A research project enabling users to directly manage and trade their data, instead of companies.
Research with UX consulting team
Dec 2023 - Dec 2024 (1 year)
In July 2021, following the amendment of Korea’s MyData Act, which allows individuals to manage their own data, I initiated a UX consulting project. The goal was to design a new data platform that integrates and utilizes the personal data of 20 million users managed by three major companies — Shinhan Bank (finance), CJ (commerce), and LG U+ (telecommunications).
The project began by exploring how users currently perceive MyData services. To gain deeper insights, I employed various research methods including market research, competitor analysis, surveys, in-depth interviews, persona development, and user flow design. Through this process, I investigated how users understand and manage their personal data, as well as their perspectives on the potential for data monetization.
The insights gained served as a crucial foundation for designing a more intuitive and user-centered data platform that reflects both user needs and market demands.
